Art Is Fashion.

I recently stumbled upon this completely amazing blog that features the artwork of Katie Rodgers (or Kathryn Elyse Rodgers). The majority of her art is done on card stock with water colors, pencil and ink. Each piece is to DIE FOR! They are all so amazingly beautiful! She is obviously very talented! I LOVE ART... especially when it is combined so amazingly and seamlessly with fashion. All of her pieces are available for purchase at Etsy.com (another absolute favorite of mine!). Currently, she is running a special sale on all of her original watercolor prints for $15 each! Hurry... Sale ends on November 1st. Katie also offers custom illustrations as well. Be sure to check out her blog as well at: http:/paperfashion.wordpress.com/

Thankfully, payday is this Friday... hmmm... what to spend it on... :)

Not Your Average Snow Bunny.

Lately, a few conversations have gravitated towards the subject of trips to the snow. However, this heat (FYI: it's been about 90-ish degrees lately) in LA makes it hard to think about snow clothes and/or dressing for somewhat cold weather. Personally, I haven't been anywhere near snow for about the last 10 years or so which means that the closest thing I have to "snow gear" are UGG boots... in which I only wear in absolute extreme cases (i.e. quick late night trips to the store). Which brings me to the idea that I should finally invest in a snow jacket and snow pants. If you know me, you'll know that I DO NOT want to look like a cutesy little snow bunny (i.e. pink and white cutesy snow get-ups). That's just not my style.

I recently hit up a local Big 5 Sporting Goods store this past week and absolutely fell in LOVE with a red snow jacket by TripleNickel (555). Seemingly, this particular brand is NO WHERE to be found online. Which may just bring me to actually "invest" (it's by no means an "investment" considering I'll probably only wear it a handful of times a year if I'm lucky) $130 on the jacket. Here's the jacket (and me in it) in all its glory...

Halloween.

Halloween just so happens to be "Dress Like A Slut Day". In most cases, I would drop about $75 on a new (slutty) costume... this year, that is not the case. I decided that I just might have enough in my closet to pull off a "Naughty School Girl" costume and call it a day. Below is what I'll be calling my Halloween costume (more or less).

PostScript: Actual pictures of me in my costume will be posted shortly. :)

Hard Candy Isn't a Thing of The Past Anymore.

Way back in elementary school… like 5th grade (circa 1996) I was obsessed with always having my nails painted (which stems mostly from my mom’s old friend who would always paint my nails for me). Coincidently, Hard Candy nail polish was at the top of their game at the time with their signature ring-topped nail polishes with quirky names such as Oil Slick, Dirt and Trailer Trash. Then there’s the one that put them on the map – Sky, a nauseating shade of baby blue (I’m not fond of pastels). So of course there is a nostalgic warm fuzzy feeling I get anytime I see that cute little ring-topped bottle of nail polish. Now that I’ve provided an impromptu history lesson… let’s move on…

Hard Candy is now being featured exclusively at Wal-Mart. I know, I know… Wal-Mart. Oh well… that is a different post. Anyways, all of their 261 products are priced between $5 and $10! See for yourself HERE. As much as I hate stepping inside of any Wal-Mart, I will definitely stop by this weekend to check it out!

Too Bad I Don't Have A Boyfriend I Can Steal This From!

Incase anyone is oh-so generous enough to get me a Christmas gift this year... this is all I want for Christmas.

Citizen Eco-Drive Men's Rose Goldtone Steel Sport Watch

I am willing to start a "Christmas Fund" if you feel compelled to contribute some dinero to this gorgeous and definitely worthy cause.

Street Walkers.

For the past month, I have been dying to get my grubby little hands on a pair of ahhh-mazing, gorgeous over the knee boots. However, I did have 5 mandatory requirements.

  1. Flats or a low wedge heel. This would not only make sure that I didn't look like a complete slore* while wearing them, but it would also guarantee that I would wear them regularly.

  2. Suede or distressed leather. I am obvi not a fan of fake leather or shiny leather... all too tacky for me.

  3. At least a little slouchy and not stand on their own.

  4. Non-pirate-y boots. Pirates are sexy in very few instances (i.e. Halloween, tattoo parlors, starring in Pirates of the Caribbean, that's actually about it).

  5. Under $150. Because of my credit diet, I had to put some sort of limit on these babies.

Now that Fall has officially arrived in Los Angles, I didn't feel so bad about blowin' a wad of cash on some OTK boots. So I picked up these gorgeous boots for about $95! And they happen to follow all of my requirements as well! They look even better on!

OTK boots are being studded, cuffed, buckled, laced, slouchy, fringed, tasseled, platformed, wedged, buttoned and stiletto-ed. Here's some inspiration to pick up your own pair!

Twinkle Toes.

I have to admit that I'm not a heels kinda gal. GASP! I know. Try not to spread the word. Don't get me wrong, I wear them... I just don't live in them. I would love to be able to wear heels day after day after day. But I can't... they absolutely murder my feet most of the time. Such a shame because I do have gorgeous feet! Probably because I don't wear heels 24/7. LOL. I keep telling myself that I should wear them more often... but I rarely get around to it. On that note, I wear flats pretty regularly. I absolutely adore flats! Given the right flat and it can make your boring jeans and t-shirt daily uniform into something with a little more pizazz! A punch of color or some sparkle!

Of course if I wasn't on this God forsaken credit diet that I am on, I would obviously already own all above said flats. Oh well.
